Plebiscite in Assam way forward : Anti-Talk ULFA faction

Reacting to Pro-talk ULFA factions condemnation of the recent ‘armed attack’ on Congress in the form of IED blast at Rajiv Bhavan, Congress Head Quarter in Guwahati, anti-talk ULFA has urged Arabinda Rajkhowa and other pro-talk leaders to return back to join the outfit.

the outfit’s publicity wing leader Arunodoy Dohotia, in an email to NE TV ( Local satellite Channel based in Guwahati) said that “only a plebiscite in presence of UN observers is the way ahead and not the Sanmilito Jatiya Abhibartan.”

So, most probably, anti-talk faction of ULFA is also following footstep of UNLF ( United National Liberation Front, Manipur) in demanding plebiscite with UN observer!

There has been reports about Paresh Barua trying to revitalise ULFA by promoting many cadres. As per information available with the security agencies, senior ULFA man Jiban Moran has now been given the status of ‘Lieutenant Colonel’ by Paresh Baruah and by virtue of his rank, he is now the second in command of the outfit. Similarly, two other hardcore members – Drishti Rajkhowa and Bijoy Chinese have been promoted from the rank of self styled Second Lieutenant to self styled Major, giving them a major jump in the outfit.
