Former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Bharat Ratna, hospitalised after massive cardiac arrest in Shillong, Meghalaya today at around 8PM. He was in Shillong to attend a function at IIM Shillong. As per reports, he suffered massive cardiac arrest and brought to Bethany Hospital in Shillong, Meghalaya. He was supposed to be in critical condition and under ventilation. And he is now confirmed to have passed away at 7:45PM, 27 July 2015.
Dr. Kalam had reached Guwahati today in the morning and went to Shillong directly from airport. He collapsed during the function and rushed to Bethany Hospital in Shillong. He is likely to be flown to New Delhi tomorrow.
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was widely popular and revered president of India and also known as missile man. He is known to contribute a lot in India’s nuclear test in 1998 as well as India’s missile program.
Medical team of Guwahati Medical College, medical team of Army, Air force are supposed to be visiting the hospital.
He was born on 15 October 1931 at Rameswaram, Ramanathapuram District, located in Tamil Nadu. He served as 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.
