Guwahati Molestation: Two more arrested

Assam Police today arrested two more accused which were identified by the video footage. The two arrested persons are Diganta Basumatary and Navajyoti Deka, meanwhile one sub-inspector of police Shovan Barua of Dispur Police Station has been suspended.

Assam CM Tarun Gogoi had given 48 hours deadline yesterday for arresting all the identified culprits which were seen molesting the victim in a bizarre Molesting On Camera in Guwahati incident.

Meanahile, Akhil Gogoi, noted RTI activist had accused that a NewsLive reporter is main culprit who instigated the mob to molest the victim for TRP, and demanded that he should also be arrested along with other molester. NewsLive TV Channel has denied any such allegation and opines that the video footage shown by Akhil Gogoi in his press conference is not sufficient proof.

In another shocking incident, one Indian Army Jawan has been arrested for trying to molest a women Sibsagar district in Assam. The girl was coming back after collecting firewood when Armyman forcefully took her to jungle, but the girl started shouting for help. Many people gathered and rescued the girl after beating up the army jawan and then handed over him to police.

Meanwhile, social media is still buzzing with this Guwahati Molestation issue with various theories, Many are of the opinion that this whole incident was staged by NewsLive TV as they could shoot it conveniently. Many cite various tweets by Atanu Bhuyan (Editor in Chief of NewsLive TV) about the incident as well as his defending of his reporters. Atanu Bhuyan has now made his twitter timeline private.

A massive protest is reported to be held at NewsLive office today and police and paramilitary forces are deployed here. The protest is spearheaded by KMSS along with many other social organisations.

Meanwhile, NCW team who visited the victim had informed that the victim has some cigarette burning on her body. She has undergone medical test and report has not come out yet. NCW team opines that victim should be given proper counseling to enable her to start her life after such trauma.
