Assam Election 2011 schedule announced

As expected, the schedule of Assam election 2011 has been announced today by Chief Election Commissioner S.Y. Quraishi that Assam Election would be held in two phases. The first phase would take place on 4th April 2011 while the other phase will be held on 11 April 2011.

So, as demanded by various parties in Assam, the Assembly election of Assam will be held just before Bohag Bihu in Assam. Bohag Bihu is main festival in Assam which normally starts from 14th April in a year.

The vote count will be held on 13th May 2011 along with other states which are going to polls from April to May. These states are West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.

So, it is just 40 days left now for the first poll in Assam!

Congress and BPF ( Bodoland Progressive Front) are the ruling party in Assam for last 10 years and many people opine that this time they will face anti-incumbency factor.

But since major opposition parties like AGP ( Asom Gana Parishad), BJP ( Bhratiya Janata Party), AIUDF etc. are not in alliance, many feel that Congress-BPF combine has an advantage.

Many people think, this time BJP will emerge as a strong force in Assam with larger MLA count. Congress seats may shrink but many think with support from BPF and some other independence like Gana Shakti, it may just muster the numbers to form next government again.

For the greater interest of Assam Congress should come back to power in 2011 Assam assembly election.
AUDF party is Family based Communial Party like BJP or Shib shena.
No communial Party to rise in assam .

A week after getting elected as rector (vice-chancellor) of Darul Uloom Deoband, Maulana Ghulam Mohammed Vastanvi, seems to have courted a controversy by saying All is Well in Gujarat under chief minister Narendra Modi, an accused in the 2002 anti-Muslim pogrom.

A leading English daily quoted the Maulana in a news report on 19th Jan. 2011 as saying: All communities are prospering in Gujarat and there is no discrimination against the minorities in the state as far as development is concerned.
When TwoCircles.net contacted MBA degree holder Maulana Vastanvi to verify his statement in Times of India the Surat (Gujarat)-based cleric said: “Muslims are doing businesses here. They are getting education. There has been no violence in the last eight years. They are living peacefully in Gujarat. Now tell me my son, what should I say? Should I say Muslims are oppressed here, they are facing atrocities. If I say so, Modi will ask me where are the oppressed Muslims, and then how many such Muslims will stand behind me?
