Two reasons why Himanta Biswa Sharma should be given a chance

Recently, there has been attack going n constantly against Himanta Biswa Sharma. Notable opponent are Mr. Akhil Gogoi, KMSS leader who needs no introduction and Mr. Bhuban Pegu, an independent MLA from Jonai who supported Congress Government in Assam during its initial formation period.

Without going into details of merits for attacking HBS ( as Himanta Biswa Sharma is popularly known in internet forums), there are two reasons why HBS should be spared and continue in his work, specially his work in Guwahati and Health sector in Assam.

1. About Guwahati

After HBS has taken over GMDA, Guwahati has witnessed Assamese youths dominating business activities which was other wise dominated by non-Assamese community. It may be unethical undemocratic or what ever, the point is, Assamese youths are getting employed, are being part of growing business activities in Guwahati and it will surely benefit Assamese society in the long run. In the short term, it may benefit few of the Assamese youths, but in the long run, it will surely benefit Assamese society as a whole.

2. Health Sector

Even enemies of HBS must admit that, he has done very well in health sector in Assam which no other Assamese minister had been able to do so far. It has benefited many poor Assamese cutting across caste, community lines. Many government hospitals are now equipped with many modern facilities which were unthinkable even few years ago.

So, for the greater benefit of Assamese society, HBS should be allowed to continue his good work as a minister and attempt of his character assassination should be moderated if not stopped by fellow Assamese people.

Himanta has done nothing except huge corruption. All the developments in the state of Assam are done by the fund and policies of Central Govt. ( Govt. of India). Himanta is trying his best to take the credit. He may win the election due to his muscle and money power that he has acquired during last 10 years, being in ministry of assam but he is not a capable person.

Assam needs a dynamic young leader with farsighted modern approach for overall development of Assam.Other leaders seems to be jealous of his achievements in health sector and his popularity amongst youths in particular.I am a retired Veterinarian presently settled at Zoo road wish to see him a Minister for Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries which is the backbone of Assam,s economy.HBS is the only capable Minister who can bring about a dynamic change in this vital sector that can transform the life of our farmers. For so long we have ignored them and we often forgot their contribution in filling up the food busket of our state. We talk of price rise of essential commodity and other things but unless we provide essential needs and requirements of our farmers, how can we succeed. I honestly hope my dream to see Mr.HBS as Minister for Agri,Animal Husbandry & fisheries will come true in May 2011. My best wishes to him.

Two bold man took more pain to shine Assam.Himanta and Rekibul. No doubt their efforts for state is high appreciated.Wish people do learn from them well.Only crying on corruption have no end.Until we have law like China, arrest and shot dead. But Indian constitution dnt allow so. Work and performance is more important.I wonder if anyone can say from Assam that he/she/their family are not at all corrupted ever??Lets welcome new Govt as we can smell Bangladeshi as opposition now.Sad for people of Assam.Still neither Akhil,AGP/BJP feel shame at this.

Thanks considering all Assamese people as corrupt.I want to know why you want to be the slave of Himanta or Rockybul. You can also be the king of corruption.
AGP should be disolved .There is always a lull before any storm.

At the very outset I will mention that I am a non-Assamese (read :Marwari). And lets see, what you are suggesting is that the way to free Assam of Marwari-corruption(99.99 marwaris are born corrupt and rest become corrupt later) is allowing HBS ( as Himanta Biswa Sharma is popularly known in internet forums) to carry on plundering Assam .What kind of a blog are you promoting here? You are seriously insane or a flog (false blog) created to promote HBS.

Either way , let me assure you this guy takes 5 lakhs for a meeting (not in cash as that can be caught on camera), has links with all the major MARWARI business (whoever wants to earn black money contact HBS), had TADA cases against him closed, controls passing of maps by owning GMDA(there is a lot of money to be made there), owns the plastic industry here in Assam and hundreds of other things I am not aware of.

This guy is totally corrupt and will never do anything for Assamese youth in the short or long term.

Is forcing the marwari community to employ unemployable assamese youth the way ahead?
Why is he not training the assamese youth to become employable and then they will do much better?

    Wake up,
    chetan

    Hon’ble Sir,
At the very outset I would like to wish you a happy Rongali Bihu. Sir, I am now working in the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Gauripur as a Warden cum Teacher.I was appointed in 2011.I had cleared the ACS,(Mains) exam,2006 which was held in 2008 but I was not selected . I was not satisfied with the marks obtained in the written part as well as in the viva. So I did RTI so that I can get the xerox copies of my answrscripts. But till today Iam not getting these copies. This time I again cleared the ACS (prelim)Exam,2009 & preparing for the main.
Sir, if you can reduce the malpractices in the selection process of ACS cadre & if you can launch pass validity certificates to all ACS passed out candidates like that of TET passed out candidates which is of seven years I will be very grateful to you & I along with the people of Assam must say that you have changed the whole Assam into a golden Assam which we all wish to be.
Sir, I also cleared the TET Exam ,2012 in both LP& ME.Will I get a permanent post of Assistant teacher? I also cleared the exam for the post of Junior Assistant in the Secretariat,Assam in 2009,but I was not appointed, cleared the exam for the post of Supervisor,Social welfare,Assam the result of which is yet to be declared.
A married woman with two children at the age of 35 years & unemployed husband humbly request you to show the way to have succcess in life so that I can run my family smoothly.

I am very excited to hear that finally Assam has been able to organise and appoint teachers based on merit alone. Thanks to HBS.
It is the only example in front of us which shows that even one of the most corrupt and economically backward state like Assam can be changed for the best interest of educated and deserving masses.
After HBS is through with Education system he must be given the Home Ministry to cleanse the rot in internal security environment of the state and so that he makes sure POLICE is not above LAW

I must also mention that Assam or any other developed region cannot be run and was never run by Assamese alone. After Assam became biased towards Merit based on cultural background the economy and advancement of the state came to a grinding halt. Today we must be ashamed to admit that Assam is in such a bad shape that educated, talented, meritorious non-assamese speaking (and also few assamese speaking) youths don’t want to build their career in Assam. Some don’t even aspire to return back some day.

…Sharma-ji has revolutionised the education and medical sectors in such a way that the two sectors have now started touching the people of Assam to the ground. Assam has made its presence felt in the world of stiff competition today. 5-8 aspirants from Assam are found among the successful candidates in Civil services Exam annually. Medical health care has become a reach for the downtrodden, needy and poor patients now. Hats off to Sir-ji! However, it is the area of conflict of interests between GDMA and GMC where Himanta-ji could do a lot more keeping in view the recommendations of the TAFC Report 2008.
Wishing Sir-ji all the best in his progressive approaches elsewhere.
