NESO accuses Centre of Divisive Policy

NESO ( North East Student’s Organisation) has accused centre of following divide and rule policy to prevent the people of North Eastern states launching movement unitedly for solution to problems in the North East India. President of the NESO, Samujjal Bhattacharya said that over the years, the Government of India did not take any positive step for the permanent solution of the boundary disputes among the states of the region. “The Centre wants the Northeast to remain divided and that is why no positive step has been taken to find permanent solution of the boundary disputes. The Governments of the concerned states also lack sincerity to deal with the problem,” he alleged.

In an significant acusation, The NESO president, Samujjal Bhattacharya , said that there have been instances when boundary disputes among the NE states crop up whenever there is a move for a united movement on any major issue. The trouble broke out in the Charaipung area immediately after the constituents of the NESO extended their support to the demand of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) for updating the National Register of Citizens (NRC) within a specific time frame.

Meanwhile, a meeting between the AASU and Arunachal Pradesh students Union will be held in Charaipung soon in presence of the common people of both the sides shortly.
