Arunachal Government Revokes Issue of PRC to non APST

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister on 29th Sep 2010 revoked the earlier decision of issuing PRC ( Permanent Residential Certificate) to NON-APST in Changlang and Lohit districts. There were huge hue and cry and protest over this PRC issue, led by AAPSU ( All Arunachal Pradesh Student Union).

Chief Minister Khandu convened a hurried press conference with presence of Chowna Mein, Takar Marde, Setong Sena, Kalikho Pul and Atum Welly, his ministerial co colleagues. This move is welcome by all.

“Today we had meeting of APCC members and later a cabinet meeting. Understanding the fact that people of Arunachal is not happy with this decision, we have decided to revoke this order of issuing PRC to non-APST,” informed CM Khandu. PHE Minister and one of the members of cabinet sub-committee on PRC, Chowna Mein informed that decision to grant PRC was taken on humanitarian ground. “Some of the groups like Nepali, Yobin, Mising, Morang, Adivasi, Kachari and Deori are living in Lohit and Changlang districts since last 40 or 50 years. As they don’t have PRC, they can’t even apply for central government jobs. So, on humanitarian ground we had earlier decided to issue PRC to them,” said Chowna Mein.

I dont understnda what this AAPSU is doing,

instead of fighting with the possible chinnese invaders to Arunachal pradesh in future, for which all citizens of Bharat Mata should fight against. This AAPSU is trying to make more communial war without bringing these non sense issues and disturbing the government.

we shoud unite together regardles of tribes, caste. so that we can stop this possible problems of India and China Border problem.
we can rightly say we are Indains, not chinese…

Khampti tribe which never looked like a tribe, compared to other tribes of Arunachal enjoying King’s facilities in Arunachal & are politically active, are jeolous about the Deori people who are honest and hardworking, politically weak & minority in Assam & Arunachal. I feel bad about these minority community, personally saw & met them. They have land & property inside Arunachal,on the basis of that they are claiming PRC,& the parameter set of 1968 is easily fulfilled by them. Infact Deori’s are one of the oldest people of NE India. They need protection, the AAPSU and Govt. of Arunachal should do proper justice to them.

Granting of prc was a blunder on the part of A.P govt.i support aapsu stands,i being a tribal boy of a.p knows the ground reality.arunachal is a land with a low population, granting prc to non tribal of arunachal will only led to influx of more ‘outsider’…

i agree about NON-APST to give PRC, but deori is not non-APST, they are ST OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH . SAME LIKE KHAMTIS AND SINGPHOS. AND ONE MORE THING IN ASSAM THERE IS NISHI TRIBE WHICH IS LIVING AT ASSAM.THEY HAVE BIG VILLAGE AT NEAR NARAYANPUR AREA.

since arunachal is totally a tribal state , granting prc to non tribals can be an issue. But the point is why some tribes like deori are not getting prc and st status in arunachal when they being one of the oldest tribal community in northeast . only because their culture and looks are not like the major tribes of arunachal ??? when khamptis and singphos are getting it , on wat basis deoris cant get it ???
